CASUAL REGISTERED NURSE

MEDICAL

 

ROSEWAY HOSPITAL

 

 

POSITION SCOPE:

 

Reporting to the Nurse Manager and responsible for providing direct and indirect patient care activities and professional nursing services required in the nursing care of patients, in primary unit(s) or re-assigned unit(s), in collaboration with other health care providers.

 

Candidates must be available for all shifts including nights, evenings and weekends.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Required

  • Currently registered with the College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia and functions within RN scope of practice
  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to promote and maintain good interpersonal relationships when dealing with patients, visitors and other health care providers
  • Certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
  • Med/Surg Competencies
  • Must be able to perform duties that involve lifting, bending and stretching
  • Demonstrated commitment to continued professional development
  • Displays a patient/client service attitude
  • Supports a respectful workplace and ability to work within a team environment
  • Capable of maintaining regular attendance

 

Preferred

·         Code Management or ACLS
