POSITION:         REGISTERED NURSE – MEDICAL

 

TYPE:              Temporary Full-Time  

 

 

POSITION SCOPE:

 

Responsible to the Nurse Manager for provision of direct and indirect patient care activities and professional nursing services required in the nursing care of patients, in primary unit(s) or re-assigned unit(s), in collaboration with other health care providers.

 

Candidate must be available for all shifts including nights, evenings and weekends.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Required

 

  • Currently registered with the College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia and functions with in R.N. scope of practice
  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to promote and maintain good interpersonal relationships when dealing with patients, visitors and other health care providers
  • Certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
  • Must be able to perform duties that involve lifting, bending and stretching
  • Demonstrated commitment to continued professional development
  • Displays a patient/client service attitude
  • Supports a respectful workplace and ability to work within a team environment
  • Capable of maintaining regular attendance

 

Preferred:

 

  • Code Management or ACLS
