POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Reporting
to the District Manager of Addiction Services, and under the supervision of the
Primary Care Coordinator, the Nurse Rehabilitation Counsellor participates as
an active member of the Treatment Team.
The Nurse Rehabilitation Counsellor is responsible for ensuring optimal
levels of client care. This includes
assessment, treatment planning, withdrawal management, client teaching,
supportive counselling, discharge planning, recognizing and addressing the
needs of clients’ family members, public relations, participation in community
committees/programs, team leadership, participation on in-house committees such
as TQM, Infection Control, Occupational Health and Safety, and special
projects. The Nurse Rehabilitation
Counsellor promotes cooperative relationships with other community agencies,
and facilitates students from various disciplines.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Current registration with C.R.N.N.S.
·
Graduation from a recognized
·
Minimum of one year’s general nursing
experience preferred.
·
Experience working in a team
environment.
·
Experience working in a social or
health care setting.
·
Personal and/or professional experience
in addictions may be considered an asset.
·
Must have demonstrated good attendance
in current and past employment.
·
Must have exemplary work history.
·
Must have the physical capabilities to
perform the duties of the position.
