APPLY NOW FOR WELLNESS FUNDS

Community Health Boards are working with South West Health and Nova Scotia Health Promotion & Protection to make Wellness Funds available to our community. The Wellness Fund is intended to support projects identified by community groups and organizations.

Community groups and organizations that have a project idea are encouraged to apply to the Yarmouth County Community Health Board to be considered for Wellness Funds.

The YCCHB is periodically looking for new members. If you are interested, send us your name, address, phone number and a brief outline of why you would like to be a member of the board. You will be contacted.

Mandate

While continuing to provide quality health care, the emphasis in Nova Scotia has shifted to the promotion of health and the prevention of illness, disability and premature death.

The YCCHB uses your suggestions and ideas to determine how best to achieve wellness and improve the quality of life for the citizens of Yarmouth County.

Background

The Y C C H B was established in February, 1997. The members of the board represent a variety of ages, geographic areas, backgrounds and a gender balance. In other words, we represent a cross section of the population of Yarmouth County.
